If it does have to come out that's straightforward but mucky (sooty - no sweep). You should find a drain cock near the b/boiler.I'm assuming the back boiler will be from an old coal fire.

The liner is probably only suitable for gas - so you'll need a HETAS bod to remove that and asess the brick chimney for solid fuel.
